Dear Parents, Caregivers, and Community Members,
I am thrilled to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year at Alexander Hamilton Elementary School! As the principal of this special school, I am eagerly looking forward to the adventures in learning, growth, and community building that lie ahead this year.
At Hamilton, we are committed to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where every child can thrive. Our dedicated team of educators is passionate about inspiring a love of learning and fostering a community of kindness, respect, and curiosity. We believe that every child has unique gifts and talents, and it is our mission to help them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
This year, we are excited to introduce new programs and initiatives that will enrich our students’ educational experiences. After a yearlong, districtwide pilot, we will be launching a new phonics curriculum in all classrooms across grades K through 3. In addition, we have restructured our enrichment curriculum to provide high-quality STEAM education to all our students on a rotating schedule throughout the year. As in previous years, our weekly special classes, reading and math basic skills instruction, and Gifted and Talented programs help ensure that there is something for everyone at Hamilton.
I also invite parents and caregivers to get involved and be active participants in their children’s education. Every year our students look forward to special events made possible by our Home and School Association (HSA) and parent volunteers, including the Husky Café, Science Week, and a hugely successful Multicultural Festival. I encourage every Hamilton family to become members of our HSA so that they can stay engaged with our school community.
Communication is key, and I am committed to keeping you informed and engaged throughout the year. I encourage all parents and caregivers to visit our website regularly for updates on school events, important announcements, and HSA-sponsored activities. Please also be on the lookout for my monthly principal newsletter, which will come out on the first Friday of each month. Additionally, frequent postings on our school’s X (Twitter) account, @GRPSHamilton, are also available as a way of sharing what is happening at our school.
